As an Accounting Operations Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting the NAVEX's tax compliance and accounting operational processes. What you’ll do:
- Prepare and maintain reports, schedules, tax records, and documentation used in tax compliance and reporting activities
- Gather, validate, and organize information from multiple systems and teams to facilitate tax filings, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Manage tax calendars and monitor filing deadlines, payment schedules, and key compliance milestones
- Partner with colleagues across Finance and other business functions to collect information needed for tax filings, audits, and tax-related initiatives
- Respond to information requests from tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors by assembling accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other transactional tax processes
- Maintain organized tax records and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and audit readiness
- Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the tax function
- Contribute to special projects and broader Finance initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence
What you’ll bring:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ months of experience in business operations, finance, accounting, compliance, administration, customer support, data management, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work
- Ability to work with data, identify inconsistencies, and solve problems independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort learning new systems, processes, and technical concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to partner with colleagues across teams
- Curiosity, learning agility, and an interest in developing expertise in tax and compliance.
