As a Public Relations Manager, the successful candidate will have strong media relations skills coupled with B2B marketing copywriting and editing experience.  You will be an integral part of our internal PR team, developing strong relationships with key media outlets and reporters, and partnering internally across the business to promote NAVEX’s PR efforts.

In addition, this position will work closely with NAVEX’s Content and Product Marketing Teams to develop social media content and assure consistency in market messaging.  You will partner with internal and external subject-matter experts with ongoing responsibilities to develop stories to pitch to journalists and media outlets, and extend media relations copy/content into other uses such as blogs, conference presentations, etc. The ideal candidate will also have experience with marketing technology, knowledge of search optimization, and metrics/reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage NAVEX’s media relations function including day-to-day activities in partnership with the PR team to promote the company’s PR initiatives

  • Secure media interest in NAVEX’s unique story; coordinate coverage opportunities and press outreach, including media interviews, commentary on breaking news and more; work with company spokespersons, our executive leadership, to prepare for interviews and perform follow up

  • Work with Product Marketing Managers to generate media interest and coverage for product launches and other campaigns

  • Draft and/or edit content in support of individual announcements or part of broader integrated communications campaigns, and media relations (press releases, other “owned media” including social media, and other deliverables as identified and required)

  • Work in partnership across the Marketing department – Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Content Development and Digital Marketing – to develop and execute fully integrated communications campaigns that ensure consistency of messaging globally

  • Serve as an integral part of the organic social media team, coordinating with the Employer Brand Ambassador to ensure consistency in voice and ongoing cadence of content that engages and grows the NAVEX brand with its social media communities

  • Use your natural inclination for maintaining contacts and pitch lists to work to optimize outreach

  • Create monthly and quarterly reports on program KPIs

  • Support the quality assurance standards of the Marketing Department

What You Will Need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or related field

  • 5+ years’ PR experience with a focus on B2B media relations; experience with tech, fintech, security or related field considered a plus  

  • PR Agency experience a plus

  • Strong writing skills, both journalistic/press release and B2B marketing content.  Proficient in digital media, content creation and distribution, and SEO best practices

  • Experience working across multiple communications channels/disciplines in an integrated fashion (e.g., coordinated PR + Social Media campaigns, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • A creative thinking style with ability to proactively identify story opportunities

  • Proven ability to build and grow relationships with journalists and other industry influencers

  • A collaborative working style: able and willing to “flex” in support of business and campaign needs and activities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to collaborate and engage with people across a variety of levels with diverse backgrounds
