Susan Kramer, Baroness Kramer, PC began her career in finance where she held several Vice President positions. She served as a Member of Parliament for Richmond Park from 2005-2010 and was made a life peer in December 2010. In 2013, she was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Transport, which she held until the 2015 General Election and has since served as the Liberal Democrat Lords Spokesperson for the Treasury and Economy.

Susan currently serves as the Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Whistleblowing, the aim is to put whistleblowers at the top of the agenda. The APPG is committed to world class whistleblower protection and is currently undertaking an enquiry into the strength and effectiveness of existing whistleblower legislation before making comprehensive proposals for improvements.

Dr Folashade Adeyemo is a Barrister, and lecturer in Law at the University of Reading, (Senior Lecturer, University of Liverpool from August 2023). She currently teaches across commercial law subjects such as Banking and Company Law. In addition, she is the School Director for Recruitment and Admissions.  

She has published extensively in the field of banking and financial regulation and has specific interests in whistleblower protection and financial and economic crime. Her research touches on these issues predominately from the global south perspective, focusing particularly on countries such as Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. Her most recent journal article was published in the Journal of Business Law (JBL) (2020), where she considers whether whistleblowers are adequately protected under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 1998. In addition, Fola’s recent book, titled Banking Regulation in Africa: The Case of Nigeria and Other Emerging Economies was published by Routledge in 2021. The books’ core jurisdiction focus is Nigeria; however, it also provides a holistic overview of the South African and Kenyan banking regulatory environments. She has led discussions in this area, which have been covered by BusinessDay.Ng, and ThisDay.  

Fola is currently writing a monograph, provisionally titled: Whistleblower Protection in Africa: An Analysis of Selected Developed and Developing Economies. This text builds extensively on the findings of the JBL 2020 paper. The book also contributes to the ongoing discourse on whistleblower protection, focusing particularly on the practical measures that may be implemented to ensure that whistleblowers are adequately protected. It also moves forward the discussion on how whistleblowing may be used as an effective anti-corruption and regulatory tool, to stamp down on the global phenomenon of corruption. 

An expert in organisational whistleblowing management, Jan was engaged in the development of the new ISO 37002 Standard, is a frequent speaker on subjects related to whistleblowing, and has authored various articles on new legislation concerning whistleblower protection, anti-corruption and organisational whistleblowing best practices.

Jan is CIPP/E is an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E). He holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) from King’s College London in the United Kingdom (EU Competition Law) and a Master’s Degree (LL.M) from Leiden University in the Netherlands (European Law).
