Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
Jacob Parks, J.D., CFE, serves as associate general counsel for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. In this role, he provides day-to-day counsel within the organization and works with various departments to provide education and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. He also serves as liaison to the ACFE Board of Regents in matters regarding the Code of Professional Ethics and Code of Professional Standards.
He also works with ACFE’s Research Department to develop and present anti-fraud training materials. His focus in this regard is to ensure that the materials accurately reflect current fraud-related laws and issues. He provides training on the elements of financial crimes and legal issues when conducting fraud examinations. Audiences for these trainings often include public accountants, corporate and private investigators, legal professionals, and law enforcement agents. He is also co-author of the ACFE’s biennial statistical reports, Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse.
Before joining the ACFE, Jacob clerked for Todd Hurd & Associates, dealing with discovery requests, asset investigations, and other civil litigation matters. Additionally, he had an externship with the Seventh Court of Appeals of Texas, working on issues involving criminal search and seizure and whistleblower protection.
Jacob graduated from Texas Tech School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
