2016 Ethics & Compliance Virtual Conference Highlights the “Return on Ethics”

At NAVEX Global we have always known that when organizations invest - financially and culturally - in compliance, it creates value for the organization and its customers, employees and constituents. A recent report from the Ethisphere Institute shows that publicly traded companies on their list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies outperform the S&P 500 by an average of 3.3%. Add to this the advantage of a more engaged, trusting workforce, the avoidance of legal battles or brand-damaging negative publicity, and the value is magnified. In short, the case for investment in ethics and compliance is stronger than ever.

We believe in this return on ethics so strongly we’ve made it the theme of our annual Ethics & Compliance Virtual Conference (ECVC) this year: harnessing the business value of an ethical culture.

This year’s conference will be held on November 15, 2016 and begins with a keynote by Howard Putnam, former CEO of Southwest Airlines. He has a unique, C-suite view of the business value associated with an ethical culture, and the critical role compliance professionals have in maintaining it. Our speakers include prominent employment law experts from Baker & McKenzie and Choate Hall & Stewart, plus a number of compliance peers from well-known companies and of course, our own thought leaders from the NAVEX Global Advisory Services team.

If you have attended the ECVC in the past, you know it is a valuable day spent listening to, learning from and interacting with E&C experts. What you may not know is NAVEX Global's ECVC has become the largest single gathering of compliance professionals in the industry with more than 4,000 attendees registered last year. We expect even more participants this year.

I think we’d all agree it is an exciting time to be a compliance professional.

The compliance function is more visible than ever before and recognized for its contribution to business success. The work compliance professionals do is fundamental to protecting an organization’s people, reputation and bottom line. You could even say compliance matters more than ever in a time when stakeholders expect transparency and accountability from organizations they work with, invest in, or buy from every day.

I hope you can join us on November 15 and be part of the most successful ECVC yet.

Everyone in compliance should be encouraged by the “2016 Compliance Effectiveness Survey” recently released by the SCCE.
